⭐️ 🙌 Our experience with Backyard Grannys has been nothing short of exceptional 🙌 ⭐️ From our very first interaction nearly a year ago when we were first started looking to build, all the way through to post-handover of our 1 bedroom Seaforth build, the team have been so professional, knowledgeable and supportive. When I first submitted an online enquiry for a property we were looking at purchasing, Lauren and the team were so responsive in doing an initial desktop assessment to determine whether a granny flat could fit and came out to do a site visit not too long after we purchased it. When we progressed to the quoting stage, every step, inclusion and cost was thoroughly explained so we could rest assured knowing there wouldn’t be any hidden costs or surprises - transparency is one of the many strengths of the Backyard Grannys team. Everyone was so patient in answering all our questions to help us understand the process. The selections appointment with Bella and the team was excellent - the showroom allowed you to see all the inclusions and upgrades available, and to visualise how all the selections come together. It was also great visiting the display home at Jewells to see the finishes and to get some inspiration for the design of our granny flat. The approvals process was also incredibly smooth and we were kept up to date with progress and timelines. The communication from the team was top notch at every single step. During the construction phase, our Project Supervisor Brett was absolutely brilliant - he ensured the project stayed on track and that we were fully informed throughout the entire build. Brett’s keen eye and attention to detail was super impressive, resulting in an incredibly high quality finish. Any minor fixes (eg. a small patch of downpipe needing to be painted) were rectified immediately which we were so appreciative of. Nothing was ever an issue for the team. The quality of the finishes and workmanship of the final product are genuinely exceptional, and is a testament to the high standards and care that Backyard Grannys pride themselves on. Working with Backyard Grannys was a fantastic experience! Last year I contracted another granny flat company to build my granny flat and it didn’t go well, ending up with an iCare insurance claim and having to start all over again. Having been burnt the first time around, I took a lot of care and due diligence to choose another builder and Backyard Grannys came out on top. Backyard Grannys proposal was the best value and they were very transparent and easy to deal with. They were also the most amenable to working with my unique situation. Having gone through a very painful and confusing CDC process previously, I was in the unique position to compare how Backyard Grannys handled the amended CDC for their design. It was like chalk and cheese. The process was smooth, easy to understand and well communicated. It was a pleasure working with every person at every stage, from initial meetings with management to sales, design & engineering, selections, contract, accounts, project management and handover. As a result, my development certificate was completed in just a few weeks, and I ended up with a great design for the block with high quality components. The construction went without a hitch. They started in October and the roof was on before Christmas. I was very happy with the finished product and couldn’t find any faults at final inspection other than a stiff roller blind chain that was quickly fixed. In retrospect, I’d say that the best part of working with Backyard Grannys is that they are large enough to have the people and scale to do a great job, yet it feels like you are working with a family-owned business where you can speak directly with them (including Management!) when you need to.
