Do not trust the testimonials, because parents were asked to write them while their children were still in class. Of course, no parent would write something negative when Ms. Sam asked during the free days or while their kids were still learning( I was asked to write one, felt like forced, on our 2nd class). Here is what I experienced in the last 4 months (Math and English): 1. Old teaching style My daughter can learn 20 words in 15 minutes when I teach her at home, but she only learned 16 words in three months at this centre and can hardly remember them. Ms. Sam only forces kids to memorize instead of teaching phonics. I asked her many times to change her method, but she never did. In the end, she told me my 5-year-old has no learning ability and just needs more time. 2. Math lessons The math lessons are just from a book you can buy on Amazon. She does not adjust to the child’s level. The work is way too easy for my daughter, as requested to change her teaching method or materials I want my daughter to learn. She never did. 3. Bad payment practice Every month I received emails threatening me with a $50 late fee, even though I always paid online. There was no clear due date. Once she asked me to pay $50 for an extra book (not in the email) and said if I didn’t pay the next day, there would be another $50 penalty. Parents end up living under constant $50 threats from her. 4. Missed classes She took money for group classes but later said it would become private lessons, so I had to pay $85. This was not my fault — it was because her centre had no students. She was also often late, which messed up my schedule after class. 5. Shifting teaching new knowledge responsibility to parents She asked me to teach my daughter spelling and new material at home in my own time, while she only checked if she gets it right during her. If that is the case, why should we even attend her classes? 6. Refund not given I gave one month’s notice in July that we would stop. She promised a refund for the unused classes, but as of September 9th, I still have not received it. Her only excuse is that she is “too busy.” This is her way of making parents keep chasing after her until they are too exhausted to continue. Due to BC Law Business Consumer Protection act: When a Refund is Mandatory The Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act (BPCPA) requires businesses to provide refunds without deduction within 15 days of receiving the cancellation notice or demand for refund. Currently, I did not received the workbook that I had paid for and the classes that were supposed to deliver and is promised with a refund. This centre is not real “Singapore Style” teaching. It is old-fashioned and badly managed. I have proof to show the poor ethics of this centre, which is not professional for any school or teacher. There is a place called Business Consumer Protection Act. If you are experiencing or had experience the same treatment from this centre. You can file a complain there. 7. Ms. Sam has once again attempted to delay my class refund, including the textbook fee. She previously promised that the refund would be sent back to me, but as of today, September 19, 2025, this is the message I received from her text: Mr. Sam: “You should be ashamed of yourself for writing a false review in my website I want you to apologize and retract the review in my website.” My response. This is absolutely true. Many others have been treated the same way as I was. I will encourage them to share their experiences in the comments on your website. If this continues, I will also post everything online, including our previous email exchanges and what you have written here. I will ensure this is made public, including in the news, to show how you are treating your clients as an educator. You have no right to keep my tuition money, nor the textbook fee for a book I never received. You sent us threatening penalty emails every month, yet you yourself are not following the law, which requires all refunds to be issued within 14 days.

Taught in small groups and the teachers are patient. They always welcome parents’ comments and review the students’ progress regularly.
