Maybe it’s because it’s a family-owned business, but every time I walk into Jocelyn’s Aesthetics & Spa, I feel like a beloved guest in someone’s home.
Although I’ve only had a couple of deep tissue massages and the Japanese Hair Spa with Sukhjit Kandola (Su), I’ve walked out each time feeling completely rested and reset.
My absolute favourite thing about Su — who works exclusively with female clients (sorry, not sorry, boys 😉) — is that even though massage therapy is a relatively new career for her, the way she intuitively finds and works through every sore spot feels like a true telltale sign of a mother’s touch.
As someone who is neurodivergent, feeling safe and comfortable in my body during treatments is extremely important to me. Su creates that space effortlessly. She is attuned, respectful, and intuitive, and I never feel overstimulated or misunderstood in her care.
Su is incredible at reading body language and always checks in with me about pressure. She isn’t afraid to really apply firm pressure when I ask — which I deeply appreciate, since I’m quite sensitive to light touch. She’s also never hesitant to use a variety of tools and techniques to release sore muscles, tailoring each session to exactly what my body needs!
I also want to give a shoutout to Jasleen (Jazleen?), the lovely receptionist who is always warm, communicative, and willing to work with my scheduling needs — and patiently answer my questions about the world of getting pampered.
I highly recommend Su and the entire team — the experience feels personal, thoughtful, and genuinely restorative every single time! 🤍
One genuine burning question that I keep forgetting to ask… Who’s Jocelyn?
