Poor experience for Adult ADHD care. This was my first time with Dr Archana. I'm here in Patna for vacations and didn't have access to my regular psychiatrist, hence i had to visit here. Having worked with three supportive and empathetic psychiatrists previously, I know what good ADHD care looks like. Unfortunately, this experience wasn't it. From a medical professionals, i expect them leading with pointed questions and not form judgement beforehand. However, Dr Archana was highly dismissive from the get go. Barely asked any clinical questions to back that skepticism. There was no digging into the patient history. Leaving the burden of proof on me. - No questions about symptom duration or severity - No specific inquiries about work-related impacts, even when I brought them up - No discussion about the effectiveness of current medication (which I've taken for 6+ months) .. Dismissing symptoms as 'normal behavior.' The consultation felt judgmental rather than supportive. Judgement is supposed to come at the end of the question, not at the start. As a patient with ADHD, it's already hard enough managing daily struggles. When a doctor makes you feel like you need to prove yourself instead of helping you, that's not good care. There’s a huge difference between being skepitical/careful and just being dismissive. At the end the medication was prescribed with significant skepiticism that left more of a bad taste. I sincerely request the doctor to not lead with the diagnostic gaslighting with her patients.
