I’ve been coming here since they first opened and I’m a member as well. You can really tell how much they’ve improved over time — everything just keeps getting better. The food quality and service have both stepped up a lot, and it’s clear the team actually cares about what they’re doing. The wagyu is high quality, there’s a great selection, and the food comes out fast. Overall, a solid all-you-can-eat wagyu shabu-shabu spot that I’m happy to keep coming back to.

I was really excited when I heard that Mikiya finally opened in NYC since I had such a great experience at their California location and heard so many good things about it from friends. Unfortunately, I left a bit disappointed after my visit here. My group ordered the Diamond Set, and given the price point, we were expecting to be wowed. Instead, many items fell short. The seafood hibachi (abalone, scallop, shrimp) and the wagyu rib eye brisket shoulder were overcooked, which really took away from the enjoyment. The wagyu rib eye was especially disappointing--the waitress didn't even ask how we wanted it cooked, and it came out so overdone that I could only bring myself to eat one piece. Such a waste considering the quality of the cut. The wagyu tartare with avocado also missed the mark. At the California location, it's served differently instead of avocado it is with egg yolk. I really think all locations should stay consistent, especially when it comes to signature dishes. On the positive side, each cut of meats were delicious, and the broth was rich and flavorful. But overall, the experience felt just average, especially compared to California. For the price, I expected much more consistency and care in execution.

came during valentine’s day & ik it was super busy. however, it was our first time there so we weren’t familiar with the ordering process; the waitress basically just ordered for us and went super fast, we were kinda lost. i wish she had asked if it was our first time there and explained what she was ordering
be so careful with the dishes the meats come in, my partner was trying to separate them since they were suctioned tight and accidentally knocked into his drink and split it on himself. there isn’t a large selection of vegetables & unfortunately, it does take them a long while to replace things that go out of stock such as the drink station, but once again, i understand it was busy. overall, nothing outstanding but nothing terrible either. maybe i’m just spoiled by sukiyaki from japan!

The beef hot pot here is absolutely amazing! đŸ©·đŸ©·đŸ©· Everything is fresh and full of flavor. The staff are super attentive, and the prices are very reasonable. I’m obsessed with the beef, and the oysters are unbelievably fresh. you don’t even need a dipping sauce because the meat and seafood taste incredible on their own. I’ll definitely be back!

Mikiya Wagyu Shabu House has been my go-to spot in Flushing since they opened, consistently delivering some of the freshest seafood and highest quality cuts in the area. While the Diamond Tier ($98) was once an unbeatable value, it’s important to note that they no longer offer Norwegian lobster or lobster tail at all, and the specialty dishes are now limited to 5 per person. Because of these changes, the Gold Tier ($78) is definitely the best value for most people now, though lobster remains limited to the initial serving regardless of which tier you choose. The service was the absolute highlight of the night—a perfect 5/5 for being attentive and professional—while the atmosphere earned a solid 4/5 and the food a 3/5 due to the menu scale-backs. I’ll definitely be back for the quality, but I truly hope they bring back their original premium offerings to stay competitive and maintain that "banger" value they had at opening.

Dining at Mikiya Wagyu Shabu House was truly an exceptional experience that highlights both premium ingredients and attentive service. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome and well taken care of. Leon and Jay in particular went above and beyond—securing us a great table and taking the time to walk us through the menu and dining process with clarity and warmth. Their professionalism and attentiveness set the tone for the evening and ensured that we could fully enjoy the meal without any confusion. We selected the Diamond Wagyu Set, and it exceeded every expectation. The standout of the night was the Japanese A5 Wagyu chuck ribeye, which was nothing short of phenomenal. Its marbling, tenderness, and depth of flavor demonstrated why A5 Wagyu is considered among the finest cuts in the world. The wagyu brisket was equally impressive, offering a different texture while still delivering that rich, melt-in-your-mouth quality that makes wagyu so extraordinary. Another highlight was the bone marrow, which added a luxurious richness to the broth and elevated the overall dining experience. The side dishes deserve special mention as well. Each was thoughtfully prepared to complement the wagyu and create a well-rounded, balanced meal. From fresh vegetables to flavorful accompaniments, everything contributed to a cohesive and satisfying shabu shabu experience. Beyond the food, what truly distinguishes Mikiya Wagyu Shabu House is the seamless combination of quality and hospitality. The staff’s knowledge and care, combined with the premium selection of ingredients, make this restaurant a destination for anyone who values authentic Japanese dining at its finest. Overall, Mikiya Wagyu Shabu House delivers an unparalleled shabu shabu experience where world-class wagyu and outstanding service come together. Whether you are a seasoned wagyu enthusiast or trying it for the first time, this is a restaurant that will leave a lasting impression.

⭐ Overpriced, Overhyped, and Now With a Smaller Menu This was my second visit to this restaurant, about a year apart, and unfortunately the experience has gone downhill—while the price stayed the same. I came specifically for their premium menu, which previously included unlimited grilled lobster tails, lamb chops, and some other items. As soon as we sat down and requested lobster tail, the server informed us that they no longer offer grilled lobster tail or lamb chops. The explanation given—that this change was to “better focus on the wagyu menu”—made little sense at all. How do you focus more on the wagyu beef menu... It just felt like an excuse rather than the real reason (reducing value to the customer. In reality, the menu has simply been reduced while the Premium price remains about $100 per person. PAYING MORE FOR LESS For seafood, the “premium” selection consisted of just two lobsters(one time depending how many guest), abalone, shrimp, sliced fish, and oysters. The rest was the different slices of wagyu beef and vegetables, shrimp tempura, bone marrow. Drinks were limited to fountain sodas, green milk tea, and a couple of others not worth mentioning—nothing impressive for the price point. They did have HĂ€agen-Dazs ice cream dessert as dessert. To make matters worse, when we tried to place a LARGE second round of orders, we were told it was already the last call. Although the restaurant advertises 90 minutes of dining time, we were told that you really only get one hour to order, with the remaining time meant just for eating. For a meal costing roughly $100 per person ($500 total for four people after tax and tip), being cut off from ordering early felt unacceptable—especially when the restaurant was not busy and our tea was only refilled once the entire meal. The server should have made it clear to us that we only get 1 hour to order and the last 30 min to dine only. I woudnt have drop $500 for 1 hour. In short: you’re paying premium prices for a small menu, 60 minute limited ordering time, and average service. My advice: call ahead to check which items are actually included before you go, or you may end up paying far more than the experience is worth. What you see in the photos is mostly the highlight and what you will be getting. The only thing premium was the price. I will definitely not return to eat again.

Loving this AYCE Waygu Shabu House. The quality is good for the meats. They had a special where we got live lobster and it was so sweet. There was abalone, oysters and fish slices was good. The snow crab was lacking but it's frozen so it is what it is with that one. The vegetables selection was very good and fresh. I ended up joining the membership for the year because I plan on coming back here. Our server was very nice and pleasant young man. We are sat right up front. Didn't know there was a back section. Will ask to sit in the back next time.

Definite come in hungry but beware when you eat too much wagyu (super fatty- you will easily feel full), make sure you drink a lot of water and take breaks by consuming their tropical fruits. Truly love their bone marrows and i would suggest to try their already cooked ground wagyu curry and sliced wagyu over rice. There were 4 tiers and we chose the third tiers. Honestly would change my mind for the second tiers but I was treating my friend for their med school graduation.

Came by today on my birthday. Ester served us and did a wonderful job taking care of us. The quality of the seafood and A5 wagyu were absolutely fabulous. Everything was well done, and we’ll definitely be back
