We had dinner at Restaurant Alamea, the restaurant of the Victoria Xiengthong Palace Hotel, and it was a wonderful surprise. We enjoyed a candlelit dinner on the terrace overlooking the Mekong River. The setting is peaceful and elegant without being pretentious. The service was impeccable, attentive, warm, and genuinely kind. We had the tasting set menu, and every dish was perfectly executed. A special mention goes to the Panang curry, which was absolutely delicious, and to the coconut dessert, a real favorite. One small detail we truly appreciated: in the evening, the restaurant screens an old black-and-white Lao film. You can watch it while dining or simply while having a drink, which adds a cultural and authentic touch to the experience. An address we highly recommend without hesitation.

Delicious, fresh, authentic Laotian cuisine by the Mekong River. Indoor and outdoor dining options. They can adjust spice level. Fresh spring rolls, deep fried river weed and fish larb were all excellent, actually everything was great. Little on the pricey side but for the atmosphere and view, worth it.

First up, we visited on a gloomy, rainy afternoon when few diners were out and about. So, maybe 5 ⭐️ for the atmosphere on a different day. (I’ve included some photos of the dining environment anyway.) Food = AMAZING!! Great selection of local dishes - clean, fresh and zesty 🕺🏻 Staff very friendly and helpful. Service was quick and well organized. There’s so many fun dining places to visit in LPB, and Alamea is one of them!

I had an amazing vegan feast here. The food was incredible, had tofu curry, seaweed of the mekong and the tastiest mango sticky rice. Great vegan options and beautiful view of the Mekong.

We had a really good dinner at Almea Restaurant and enjoyed the old movie that was screened during the dinner. Sea weed and pork sausage were really good. We recommend the place!

Alamea Restaurant is located inside a hotel, offering both Lao and Western cuisine. I had both lunch and dinner through room service, and overall, the food was tasty and well-prepared. The staff were kind and attentive, which added to the positive experience. However, the dishes arrived slightly cold, which was a bit disappointing. Despite that, the food was delicious and definitely worth trying.

This is a romantic upscale restaurant part of the Victoria Hotel along Luang Prabang Mekong Riverfront. There is both indoor and outdoor seating available. The outdoor seating offers picturesque views of the Mekong. The restaurant has a wide selection of Lao inspired dishes along with some Western food. I had a pumpkin soup that came with garlic and and a tofu curry with plain white rice. The soup was thick and creamy and delicious. The curry had copious amounts of tofu, carrots and potatoes and was tasty. I also had a refreshing lime carrot juice. The service staff was courteous, professional and understood some English. The ambiance of the restaurant was casually romantic particularly during the evening with the nice lighting, elegant hotel surroundings and view of the river. This is a perfect place for a couple to enjoy a meal. I highly recommend this restaurant to those that enjoy high quality food served by friendly staff in a sublime environment.

Staff is super welcoming and attentive. They kept serving us cold water and given the hot weather it is super appreciable The food is good and came with great flavour. I wont say its the best food we had in Laos but its in our top 2 and its definitely worth a visit The location is nice too, near the Mekong river. We came for a late lunch and we were the only customer so it was very peaceful

Nice restaurant along the Mekong. I had dinner twice at this place. Clean, welcoming. The staff were friendly and helpful. The dishes are well prepared. I took "spring roll" vegetables and beef with onions and rice. All excellent accompanied by an amazing Laotian "dark" beer. This is a place where you feel good.

We got a cooking class at this restaurant with the head chef. We went early in the morning to the market to do groceries and then they gave us bicycles so that we could enjoy ourselves until they prepared the table. Cooking Lao meal together with the head chef was an unbelievable experience for us. We cooked soup + main dishes+ dessert together and then enjoyed it at the restaurant. Very clean and organised cooking class. Thank you
