Chris James Cellars is a family owned and operated vineyard and winery that produces unique and interesting wines in Carlton, Oregon. We produced our first wines in 2015 and have since grown to offer a wide selection of whites, reds and sparkling wines. Our approach to white wines is to emphasize and preserve the varietal aromatics, flavor and acidity. In red wines we seek to develop intense flavors through harvest decisions and wine-making techniques during fermentation; we focus on mouthfeel and silky texture during maturation.

Whether visiting the classy downtown McMinnville tasting room or the stunning Carlton vineyard Chris James is a top notch winner! Carlton winery sits perfectly nestled in picturesque scenery that completely compliments the vineyard. Whether star gazing or Sunday funday this winery meets all the expectations and exceeded the experience. Cheers 🥂 Chris & Beth, thank you for sharing your passion as it over flows with flavor. Chris James Cellars’ tasting room on 3rd Street in McMinnville is such a great place to meet up with family, friends, clients, or even host a holiday party. It is such an inviting space, made even more so by the warm, knowledgeable staff who immediately make you feel welcome and ensure that you have whatever you need from them. I consistently recommend this space for events because it is a standout; it’s beautiful, comfortable, and the kind of place where you feel like more than just a customer.
