I was so excited about this program and opportunity, only to discover that TISOH was not a good fit for me. Unfortunately, the program seems to teach, the principles of hospitality, but fell tremendously short of the standard.
The proficiency of the educators did not reflect the performance level expected of the student, and many teachers seemed more inclined to grade, on a basis of personal opinion, Vs the guidelines of the official rubric.
After addressing the academic environment, to no avail, the social environment fostered by the instructors became more mean-spirited and passive aggressive: which seemed to be further reflected in my grades. I ultimately left, the program feeling valuable time had been wasted, and my creativity, deliberately stifled.
Although, I thought it'd be best for me to continue my education elsewhere,
There are staff members and administrators that exemplify the core of hospitality however, they were not my instructors.
