Ive become a regular customer for the alterations and tailoring at this place. Great attention to detail, relatively fast turnover and good prices

I inherited two suits from my grandfather and needed them altered to my size. The alterations woman seemed very irritated to be taken away from the pants alteration working on to even speak to me. There was no one else in the shop, so it wasn’t like she was insanely busy. When asked what I wanted I asked her to bring the suit jackets and pants down to my size. She dismissively told me I’d have to try them on. Didn’t show me to the fitting room, didn’t seem to be interested in anything except herself. I went to the dressing room myself and showed her the fit. She said “because it is too big it will be hard” and then went back to what she was doing and left me standing there without an answer. I went and took off the suit and walked out. Very rude service and I wouldn’t suggest it.

5th Avenue Cleaners are my go to for any dry cleaning services and alterations. They always do a wonderful job and are very honest with expectations. I love the alterations results. They always do an outstanding job and take care of items others will not, which is how I found them. I can't recommend this place enough.

I’ve been coming here for all of my dry cleaning since I’ve moved to San Diego. However, recently their service seems to have changed. I brought some of my nicer shirts here to get a couple stains out about a month ago… they accepted the job and so I gladly payed up front. However, when I picked up my shirts the stains looked the same they did when I dropped it off. So I asked them about it and then they gave me the excuse that the stains were too old and charged me for the cleaning anyway. I also take bedding and other larger items here to be cleaned which I will no longer do. I spoke to a lady on the phone recently who quoted me 36 dollars to dry clean some bedding and told me it would be ready next day. However, when I dropped it off she told me it would be 50 dollars instead since she thought it was a down comforter (which it is not, it’s made out of cotton) and that it wouldn’t be ready until (Monday) 5 days from when I brought it in. I brought up the fact that she had given me different information over the phone so she changed the price to $40 and said that it would be ready next day after all. I just went to pick up the “comforter” and asked if I could use a coupon I found on their website and she told me no… that it was too late! Apparently I had to show it to her when I dropped the comforter off even though I hadn’t paid ahead of time, this time, and watched as she literally typed in the numbers “40.00” on the stores’ little card machine to charge me for the cleaning. I feel as though she could have easily honored the coupon and/or changed the price accordingly but no. Nevertheless, I’ve become tired of coming here and getting nothing but attitude from her time and time again and saying nothing about it. This store and herself have proven constant disappointments for me. Do yourself a favor and find a better place to take your things to be cared for.

I needed to dry clean a number of garments while traveling from NYC. Dropped off 7 items and when I got them back every single one of them somehow smelled awful - the owner blamed this on the solvent they use (as they don't actually clean the shirts). Also, whatever starch they applied (I did not request starch and would never have told them yes had they asked me) made the fabrics feel stiff and there was a roughed up, scuffed section of pilling where some very minor stains had been removed on the shoulders of a sweater. Absolutely the worst dry cleaning experience I've had in my life... *edit* I wanted to just edit my review to share that I had one shirt in for an alteration/repair for a minor tear underneath a front button - I just found out that they charged me for this but then didn't even repair the shirt. I cannot express enough - DO NOT RISK YOUR CLOTHES WITH THESE PEOPLE AND DO NOT LET THEM TAKE YOUR MONEY

November 14 2023 Poor Customer Service! I’m a very easy going person, so it takes a lot for me to write a negative review. I’ve also had many clothes dry cleaned here, and the DRY CLEANER does an excellent Job! On this particular day (Wednesday, Nov 8th) I decided to have a classic jersey tailored, and had the most uncomfortable experience with the tailor! During the entire process she mumbled rude comments under her breath, didn’t use pins to mark the adjustment, and scoffed when I ask if details such as the side slits and sizing patches and could be preserved. Her exact words were “I don’t know if I can do this, but I’ll text you Sunday or Monday!” It’s now Tuesday, almost a week later and no word from her. Something didn’t feel right, so I decided to pop in and check on the status of my jersey. IT HAS BEEN RUIND! The proportion are off (looks like something SpongeBob squeak pant could fit), the stitching is different making the changes obvious, and there’s chalk marks all over it from where she tried to make adjustments! Plus, I was over charger, even when I brought the issues up at the front counter, they ignored the problem. Now I’m Jersey-less and let down! -An Upset Customer!

5th Avenue Dry Cleaners is awesome! Went in Friday before they closed to see if they could fix my suit pants zipper, they said yes and it was ready by 5 the next day. Very decent prices and good work. Will defiantly go back if I need anything else fixed or cleaned!

This is my neighborhood Dry Cleaners. Great location and parking is easy. Just be sure to feed the meters because you will get towed. Service is quick, high-quality and a decent price. They offer coupons online so be sure to print them out before going.

When they damage your clothes, they will not be responsible for it. Do not expect a replacement. They don’t listen to your instructions , they don’t care . And yes they damaged my jacket and the owner didn’t pay for the jacket , but only the refund of the service $10.00. I wouldn’t recommend this dry cleaner. I found other places that really Pay attention to your instructions and give you professional advice on what could damage your garments.
