We took our dog here due to it being a Saturday and our vet wasn't in office. Our dog had gotten a large wound on her leg that needed stitches. We took her in they quoted us an exuberant amount, but she needed to be seen and helped. They did her exam and kept her due to fever and said 2 hours, they kept her for almost 5. We don't live in the area. They gave her meds and scheduled her for surgery on Monday. They charged us $85 for wound dressing that was down around her ankle (not even close to the wound) before we even left the office ( she came in with $8 in Walmart bandages that stayed on for 12 hours). When I picked her up after her surgery, her stitches looked like they were done in a rush. And she was bruised (I've never had an animal bruise after being stitched). Normal stitch removal is done 10 to 14 days post-op. They had her scheduled for 21 days post op. The doctor also wanted her to be sedated the whole 21 days. On day 12 I noticed her stitch site was starting to look irritated. On Monday (day 14) I called and let them know that her stitches were cutting into her skin causing more issues. I had to repeat myself due to the receptionist holding a conversation with a coworker while I was in the middle of talking. After I repeated myself she just said okay, then said if im concerned I could bring her in but it's not a guarantee the stitches will be removed. I hung up and called our vet and was able to get her in. Our vet looked at the wound and the pictures we've been taking to document, and shook his head. He said sedation for that long period of time was excessive and unnecessary, and she should of had the stitches removed around the 10 day mark even with the size of the wound. Her stitches were removed today (day 15) but is on another round of antibiotics due to the new wounds from the stitches. I do not recommend this place. The staff is rude, they do not give you all of your paperwork and the lobby is unclean. You dont even see the doctor yourself. They take your animal to her and then she has the techs relay her information. Plus they charge way to much.

Won’t accept “pet surrenders” even when the animal is dying in your arms. They weren’t mine. Wanted to give the animal a fighting chance to live. But all they care about is money.

While they were able to get my dog in same day (for a foxtail in the ear), and that was great. They quoted me first $1400 for full sedation, dental cleaning and fox tail removal. I didn’t ask for the dental, and didn’t think full sedation was needed (took my moms dog to VCA a year ago for foxtail removal, they did light sedation and we left within 2 hours, for a couple hundred bucks) so they said they’d come back with a new price without the dental. The new quote was $1000. Still requiring full sedation (IV, Tube down throat, whole nine yards). This didn’t feel right to me. I ended up declining. I took my dog to VCA the next day, and they were able to do what the vet tech at 4-paws said “no vet in Bakersfield” could do, which is light sedation for a removal of a foxtail. I am really shocked that they wanted to put my 12 pound dog under full-sedation for something not life threatening or necessary. I would recommend not taking your dog here, especially for and emergency, it felt like they were trying to take advantage of the stressful situation I was in. Also the place was very dirty, I don’t mind outdated or messy places, but this was just dirty as well.

They are taking great care of my little Loki. I couldn’t be happier with the results. They gave me realistic expectations of his condition and we’re absolutely phenomenal with us.

4 paws is the worst pet clinic ever do not go there. I took my dog yesterday because he was peeing blood they have me an estimate of 980 for diagnostic and and medication. I told them it was too much for me at the moment so they dropped it to 535 i told the guy that was helping me out the most i could do was 450 and that it was going to be on my credit card. He said he would have to get approval from the Dr. so he walked outside and came back and said she said ok so he made me sign a paper for 385 and said I would pay the rest when i got the results back. So i get i call back today and told me they had the medicine ready for me and that the total was going to be 152 which brings me back to the 537 so now he said he doesn’t remember telling me that when it was just yesterday that we had that conversation. Its only about a 50 dollar difference but the point is that they can’t keep doing this to people.

Yes your cat has his shots but we need to give him the shots again. We like to overcharge people and don’t really want to do the work. We quoting you 800 bucks, no how about 550 now seriously it was 800 now would be 550. Sounds like there’s still a mark up yall charging no thanks. Pass for sure never again waste of 70 bucks for them to just do nothing

I’ve been to a lot of vets all over the world and I can say with 100% certainty that this is hands down the worst vet I have ever been to. I don’t think dr has ever had a pet in her life or even a real degree for being a vet. She lacks common knowledge (will refer to your dog as the wrong gender) and judges you/makes decisions based on how much money she thinks you have to spend at her scam of a vet. She sent me home telling me to euthanize my dog, who a month later has fully recovered. She will fear monger you and steal your money. Believe all of the bad reviews you read because they have all proven to be truth. I have no vet in the area so I decided to go back to get some heartguard for my dog, called a few days ago they told me to come in to take the heartworm test for $70 - fine no problem sounds reasonable. Upon getting there they quote me for over $300 for all of the labs and tests and fees!! I’ve already given these people close to $5,000 you would think they would give me a break. Do yourself a favor and read the bad reviews before taking your pet here and if you do have to take your pet here because this is the only vet that is able to get you in then make rational decisions based on this doctors delusional recommendations.

I was able to get a same day appointment for a new pet and a next day appointment for a spay. The staff were very friendly and loving. The tech loved on my pet before giving vaccines. Upon my return for the f/u, I had the same great experience. Before any service beyond the exam is rendered, you are provided a detailed estimate with time to review. The prices were fair in my opinion. I ended up paying less than my estimate. I would recommend them.

We were on a road trip from San Francisco to Los Angeles when our Chihuahua found a dark chocolate Easter Bunny that had been lost in the car and ate it all. This small veterinary practice I'm Bakersfield took took us at a moment's notice even though they were very busy with appointments they made time for us they did Shortie's blood work, gave him detoxifying medicine as well as probiotics and liver support medicine for aftercare they even consulted with the canine poison control center that we had called before going to them they used their case number to contact the poison control center and get advice. They were friendly and kind accommodating and reasonably priced. We will never know for sure what might have happened to our dog if he hadn't gotten treated but thanks to four paws he made a full recovery.

Respectable, used to come here all the time for my dogs but damn lol.... they ain't to keen on paitent pets prices with they're prices i understand about inflation and blah blah blah. On Name brand medications 💊 I felt like they padded the heck outta the prices (called other places and i was right) Again very Respectable people loved them but the one thing that erked me the most was their newly found presentation of what my cat needed as "wants" as a sales tactic like a used car salesman back in the early 90s wild Ill tell this much thou is super close by
