I was a little shocked when the tech, who came to do a furnace inspection and cleaning, told me my Carbon Monoxide (C0) output was 200ppm and, if over 200ppm, he was required to shut the furnace down and I needed a new furnace. But I was relieved when he said he wouldn't shut it down and scheduled an appointment for me with a salesman to buy a new one. But, before buying, I decided to have another company come and do an inspection. Told them nothing about the CO. After the tech was finished he said my furnace was in great shape. I asked if he had taken a CO reading. He said, yes. His reading was 11ppm which was very good for an older furnace. I decided to cancel the appointment to buy a new furnace and installed a CO detector which has shown a green light ever since. Fortunately we have not experienced any symptoms of CO poisoning. I called 24HR Comfort Services and suggested that they have the tech check the calibration on his meter. They said they would tell him.
